Peace Out!

Today was one of those days. Not a bad day at all. But one of those days when I had a specific goal of accomplishing two things on my to-do list. However, I felt led by the Holy Spirit to create something that wasn't on my list. Now, I have a due date on one specific task I need to complete, but I have learned the hard way that when God speaks, I had better listen and more importantly I had better obey!

So, this idea popped into my head and I can only say that it is a "God thing".  I created a small packet with (12) different scriptures that relate to peace, kindness, love, and compassion.  Peace is my word/theme for this new year: peace and tranquility for my soul, for my home, for my family, for my school, for my town, for my nation, for my world. Obviously peace is a feeling, but it is also an instrument, a tool. Jesus was the ultimate peacemaker. When he ascended to heaven, he gave us a very special gift, the Holy Spirit and the promise that we would never be alone.  He gave us peace and asks in return that we extend that to others. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. used peace to sow the seeds for racial equality.

In the next day or two, I'll share more on my own blog of how I plan to implement this little, tiny packet.

You can check out the packet by clicking the picture below and download it if if looks like something you could use.

May the peace of the Lord fill your hearts and minds!
