Pentecost Party

Party Hats

Pentecost Party Hats
Directions:
Each student was given three pieces of card stock (red, yellow, orange).  They were told to cut each page into the form of a flame.  You may not believe this, but we do this in kindergarten.  Each hat turns out really cute and unique.  However, I included a printable pattern you can download by clicking on the above image.  The flames were attached to a strip of white card stock and the ends were stapled together to form the hat.

Party Food:

We had strawberry filled pastries, fresh strawberries, strawberry drink mix and red hot jolly ranchers.
Next, year I plan to make these instead:
Pentecost Sundaes from Catholic Icing

Songs:

We sang Happy Birthday and blew out candles

The Importance of Pentecost

Hi friends! It's been awhile since I offered you a freebie on here!  I've had a super-hard time finding the clip art I needed to make this one, so I decided to leave the pages of the mini-book blank for your kiddos to illustrate!

As you know, today was Pentecost.  In my class, we've been talking about how Jesus promised to send a helper to his followers so they would be brave enough and know the right words to say to continue his work after he ascended into heaven.  We've talked about how, on Pentecost, the helper Jesus promised appeared to Jesus' followers, and they were filled with the Holy Spirit!  They felt brave enough to go talk to people about the Good News, and they knew exactly the right words to say!  We also talked about how Pentecost is often called the birthday of the Church.  I've made this little activity to use tomorrow with my students, and I would love to share it with you!  Click on the picture below to download my Pentecost mini book and craft.

What are some things you do to teach the importance of Pentecost?

Baptism Response Page

Teach about the sacrament of Baptism and have students share what they have learned with this simple Baptism Response Page for Grades K-1. The page prompts children to list five people or objects you would see at Baptism, draw a picture of Baptism, and complete the sentences to record the words a priest says as a child is baptized. Stop by the Kinder-Craze blog to grab this great FREEBIE and take a peek at my Baptism classroom instruction.

Have a blessed day!
